UWVES - Thanks the Eastern Shore Residents

Way to Go Shore!

It has often been said the Eastern Shore is a beautiful place and a hidden treasure. But it is the people that make the Shore so special. We care about each other, we help our neighbors when they need it, and our communities work to improve the quality of life for all.

There is no better example than the recent call to help our neighbors in North Carolina who were devastated by Hurricane Helene.   An anonymous donor came to the United Way of Virginia’s Eastern Shore asking to raise $10,000 for relief efforts, stating he would match it dollar for dollar.  Even though times are tough for many, our community still gave what they could, exceeding the goal and giving $15,000.  In total our community, though UWVES, sent $25,000 to Asheville, NC for immediate relief to the residents in those hard-hit areas.

This is the mission of the United Way. We work together to better our community, protect our way of life, and encourage members of the community to flourish.   And with your continued support, it will continue to do so.   The United Way of Virginia’s Eastern Shore allows all of us to make the greatest impact where it is needed.
