Riverside Health is observing Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Riverside Health is observing Lung Cancer Awareness Month in November! Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in men and women in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society.

Lung cancer screening is done with a Low Dose CT (LDCT), ordered by the patient’s primary care or other health care provider.

LDCT screening is quick, painless and should be performed annually for patients that are:

  • Between the ages of 50 and 80

  • Have a history of cigarette smoking equivalent to a pack a day for 20 years
