Family and Background:
My family and I moved to the Shore four years ago and have settled in Franktown. Our adult children love coming home and being on and in the water as much as possible. My husband, Fran is also a career educator. I have over 30 years of working in education and in residential summer camps. Regularly, I work with young adolescents through college age in coaching them to achieve their goals. This includes working to develop confidence, social and academic success, and personal development.
I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees in VA and my first teaching job was at St. Margaret’s School in Tappahannock, VA. It is great to be back in VA!
What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
I am passionate about working with children and young adults in all capacities. In particular, I enjoy helping them to identify the tools from within to be successful and to reach their goals.
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
My longtime mentor encouraged me early in my career to make a difference in the world and in particular with young people.
What is your favorite Eastern Shore activity?
I love exploring the beautiful walking trails, spending time on the beach and making connections with people on the shore.
What is the one thing you would tell your younger self?
Go out and get what you want. Be confident and courageous.
What is your favorite holiday tradition?
The Christmas holiday has always been my favorite. I love being with family and friends at such a magical time of year.
