Annual Meeting

Annual Meeting: This event is a celebration of the year. It includes presentation of awards to the Small Business Person of the Year, the Chamber’s Outstanding Citizen, the President’s Award and the Distinguished Service Award. This event encompasses the nomination and election of new officers and directors as well as any bylaw changes.

2010 Annual Meeting

Group 1At its annual meeting Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at the Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club, representatives of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce presented four awards.

Awards

Small Business Person of the Year, presented by George Bryan, Business Analyst with the Hampton Roads Small Business Development Center, went to Marion Long, CEO of Therapeutic Interventions, Inc. This award goes to an individual who represents an established business that has positively affected the community through resources and/or products and has reputation as a civically responsible employer providing an excellent work environment.

AwardsSharone White  Bailey received the Outstanding Citizen Award, presented by Jeannette Edwards, Director of Human Resources and Development for Eastern Shore Rural Health System, Inc. This honor is awarded to an individual who has
consistently demonstrated excellence in professional and community leadership and has made or is making significant contributions to the welfare of the community through involvement and participation and has given generously of their time and energy for community betterment.

Willie C. Randall, chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors, presented the Distinguished Service Award to Dr. Niall Finnegan, ESVA Chamber director, in appreciation for his outstanding efforts involving many years of service to the Chamber in numerous capacities.

In addition, Chairman Randall gave the Chairman’s Award to Dr. Terris Kennedy, ESVA Chamber Vice Chair, in recognition of exceptional support and assistance to him during the past year.

Group 2The winner of the David Turner bronze sculpture “Sunning Otter” was Joan Bryan.
